Tappal

A town of considerable historical significance, Tappal, sometimes spelt Tapal, lies in the north-western part of Aligarh District. This town, close to the border of Faridabad District in Haryana, is about 52 km from Faridabad, 60 km from Aligarh and 75 km from Delhi.
Tappal has some monuments of historical importance. Among these, a monument near the old fort and a tomb of Thomson Simpson, which are under the purview of the Directorate of Archeology, Uttar Pradesh, are the most significant.

Nearby towns of Tappal are Jewar, Hasanpur and Fatehpur.

Tappal is a block having majority of JAT's with some well known villages like, Simarauthi(of Bohre gotra's Jat's), Gharbara, Malav,Hamidpur etc.

    My mother was born in Tappal in 1936. Her sister was married to Mr Mirza Bashir Baig ,Past Master in Post Office district (khair ?) and lived there . I believe they were large family and their children still living there. I was told they were living near a Holly Shrine ! Which was visited by all ,regardless of their faith. Some names I can remember are Naseer Baig, Kabir Baig, if anyone have any information please reply here...
